Matthew Chapter 17

Quote: "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." - Matthew 17:20b (NIV)

Verse: "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." - Matthew 17:20 (NIV)

Lesson: In Matthew 17, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a mountain where he is transfigured before them. The disciples are in awe and want to stay on the mountain, but Jesus tells them they must come down and continue their work. When they come across a demon-possessed boy, the disciples are unable to drive out the demon. Jesus rebukes them for their lack of faith and then drives out the demon himself. The lesson we can learn from this chapter is that even with just a small amount of faith, we can accomplish great things through God's power.

Conclusion: As Christians, it is important for us to have faith in God's power and to trust in Him to accomplish great things in and through us. Even when we face challenges or obstacles, we can have confidence that God will provide a way for us to overcome them if we put our trust in Him.

Prayer points:

l  Pray for an increase in faith and trust in God's power in your life.

l  Ask God to help you overcome any doubts or fears that may be holding you back from accomplishing great things for Him.

l  Thank God for His faithfulness and for the ways He has provided for you in the past.
