It is my hope to present correct-to-scripture, biblically accurate angels so you won't be falsely led to think that they appear like the chubby angels with tiny wings and halos on the Valentine's Day card that you got 12 years ago! Let's take a biblically accurate look at angels in the Bible.

So, what do angels look like?

• Some say, that humans would find angels terrifying because we would not be able to comprehend their form. Yes, some angels can be terrifying, hence their popular "Do not fear" line when they appear.
• Angels at times look like human beings but it entirely depends on what form they take.

It's not every day that you see an angel, and in Bible times, seeing God's holy angels, particularly Archangels and Seraphs, was also rare.

How does the Bible Describe Angels and what do Scripturally Accurate Angels look like?

We know from Daniel that the bible describes angels as having the appearance of men.

But the living creatures, the cherubim, a class of angel, is described as having the faces of animals as well as that of a man.

Let's read about this below as we look at Ezekiel's vision and the world of the angelic.

Different types or classes of angelic beings look or appear differently. They are not the angels that you see with tiny wings and halos depicted in movies and greeting cards. Very often, biblical angels look nothing like how angels are depicted in art and culture.

It would follow that their form is the result of God's intended purpose for them.

While the images of the angels come very close to being biblically correct, we'd more than likely have to wait for heaven to see the precise way God actually created them. 

Angels are spirit beings, not divine beings.

Angels are most noteworthily shown in Scripture as divine messengers that help to fulfill God's plan. These heavenly beings, with their different forms and functions show forth to some degree the wisdom and power of God. They are at times shown to have human form and at times they have a mixed appearance, as is the case with the Cherubim. Again, many times angels look very different from what you'd expect. The images that we've shared here are among the most correct depictions online today.
