Psalm Chapter 97 KJV

King James Version, Holy Bible

Psalm 97 KJV

  • The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
  • Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
  • A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
  • His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
  • The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
  • The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

More Psalms Chapter 97

  • Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
  • Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O Lord.
  • For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.
  • 10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
  • 11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
  • 12 Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Psalms Chapter 97 Devotional: YE THAT LOVE THE LORD

Message:

Today, the Lord wants to talk to His own people, the sanctified and consecrated ones. One thing that we must do as His children is follow the Lord passionately. We can’t claim to love the Lord and love evil. The person that loves the Lord will display godly character, He will stay away from evil.

Reading through the whole verse shows the great power of God that should make a man love and reference him, when a man claimed to love God and love evil, he is not showing the character of God. See the scripture:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 1:16

God is talking to you today, that the best reverence you can give to God is to hate evil and keep His commandments. Don’t let the devil deceive you to be in the light but yet walk like the children of the darkness. The bible qualifies such as the ungodly. Live the life of God and I see God helping you in Jesus' name.

My Counsel

Ø  If you claim to love God, you must hate evil.

Ø  Godly character is expected from a child of God.

Declaration

Father, I declare that you are the love of my life. I declare that you are my God. I will love you and do your will. Help me to display your character in Jesus' name.
