Personal Piano Story from Founder Quinson Thomas One of the things that I distinctly remember is learning to play an extremely difficult song.
This is not going to be the case for you in many instances, because you're going to start out with a lot of easy songs, but I'm just giving you my experience with learning how to play a difficult song.
And I remember as an adult sitting down and thinking that this song is so hard to play, and I remember using my left hand to play through the parts.
Then I would scurry on over to my right hand and play the parts through. Then I played again with the left hand, making sure that it was familiar to me. Then I'd do the same with the right hand again.
And what I learned was sometimes progress is not linear or in a straight line; sometimes it's exponential.
But as you wait for that progress to happen, you can feel as though nothing is happening and nothing is working.

But nothing could be further from the truth, because the following day after learning those parts, I was able to play that piece of music that was so difficult for me the day before- that same piece of music that I could only play with my left hand and right hand separately - was now easy for me to play with both hands.
And sometimes this is how progress happens. This is what I've found after playing hymns at Church.
