Job Chapter 25 KJV
King James Version, Holy Bible
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2 Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.
3 Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?
4 How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
5 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.
6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
JOB Chapter 25: God’s Sovereignty
Memory verse: Job 25:5-6 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
Bildad's responses to Job's query concerning God's justice may appear to be clear and obvious, but they also serve to remind us of a fundamental truth about God. The heavens and the earth are under the control of the all-knowing, all-powerful God. He is righteous and holy, and his ways are faultless.
Furthermore, Bildad's words also remind us of our own smallness and weakness in comparison to God. We are finite and limited, and we can never fully comprehend the vastness and complexity of God's ways. As we humbly acknowledge our own limitations and weaknesses, we can find comfort in the fact that God is infinitely greater and more powerful than we could ever imagine.
We can be inspired to rest in God's goodness and grace and to trust in His omnipotence as we think about this reality. Even when we are unable to comprehend or make sense of the events taking place around us, we can rest assured that He is in complete charge of everything.
