Jesus Thy Boundless Love To Me Lyrics
Tune Name: JEFFERSON
Composer: Rowland H. Prichard
Meter: 8.7.8.7 D
Hymnbook Source: Evangelical hymnals
Verse 1
Jesus, Thy boundless love to me
No thought can reach, no tongue declare;
Oh knit my thankful heart to Thee
And reign without a rival there.
Thine, Wholly Thine, alone I am!
Be Thou alone my constant flame.
Verse 2
O, grant that nothing in my soul
May dwell but Thy pure love alone!
Oh, may Thy love possess me whole,
My joy, my treasure, and my crown!
All coldness from my heart remove;
My every act, word, thought, be love.
Verse 3
O love, how gracious is thy ray!
All fear before thy presence flies;
Care, anguish, sorrow, melt away
Wherever thy healing beams arise.
O Jesus, nothing may I see,
Nothing desire or seek, but Thee!
Verse 4
In suffering be Thy love my peace,
In weakness be Thy love my power;
And when the storms of life shall cease,
Jesus, in that important hour,
In death as life be Thou my guide,
And save me, who for me hast died.

O how wonderful it is to know that you are loved by God Himself. I can't tell you how many times in my walk as a believer that the Lord reminded me of His great love for me, but it seems to be a constant theme in the lives of believers - knowing the Love of the Father that He outpoured upon us through the Lord Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit. May we be reminded that God is love and live lives of love as beloved children in Jesus' Name. This hymn by Paul Gerhardt, reminds us that God's love for us is wonderful and beyond human understanding.
