God bless you, this is Prophet Quinson Thomas, and I have the Word of the Lord to you in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus.
And the Word of the Lord to you today is that it’s not over until God says it’s over. (Ecclesiastes 3:1, Isaiah 46:10)
What I’m being reminded of is the account of the Apostle Peter and the other disciples before they were commissioned by the Lord, fishing on the water. And the Scripture says that they were fishing all night, but they caught nothing. Then the Lord said, Fish on the other side. (Luke 5:1-7)
And of course, Peter was an experienced fisherman that understood how fish normally operate, and what he was experiencing with this drought of fish didn’t make any sense. His experience was failing him, but the Lord said, Fish on the other side. Put down your nets for a catch. (Luke 5:4-5)
And so Peter relented, threw out his expertise, and just obeyed God. And we, of course, know that they caught so much fish that they needed help from another boat because the amount of fish they were catching was pulling down on their boat. (Luke 5:6-7)
Your Human Knowledge is Not Enough. Lean Into God's knowledge
How could it be that an expert in the field didn’t know what to do, but the Messiah knew exactly what to do? Now, in our reading of this account, we can understand that. But if you’re just meeting a man for the very first time and he’s telling you to go and fish on the other side, which is against everything that you’ve known and against everything that you have surmised up to that point, you probably would be like, this is not going to work. But Peter did it anyway, and he saw the results. (Luke 5:5)
Sometimes your expertise and your knowledge of things don’t line up with what you’re experiencing. Usually when this happens you're dealing with a spiritual battle that only God's strategy will be able to overcome. You need a word from God, because when your expertise fails, God’s Word will never fail. (Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 55:8-11, Numbers 23:19)
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations. (Psalm 33:11)
And that’s the Word of the Lord to you for today. You are not to trust your human understanding or your human reasoning, but trust the Word of the Lord. Trust what He is telling you in your spirit, because His knowledge, His expertise, is far greater than anything that you can acquire on this earth. (Proverbs 3:5-6, 1 Corinthians 1:25, John 16:13)
Your experience is not the final arbiter of truth. God’s Word reigns supreme.
And even though you may be learned in what works and what doesn’t work, you have to rely on God for His direct input, because your knowledge of things may be limited. And in fact, God’s knowledge of things is unlimited.
Trust Him above what you think and what you understand, just as Proverbs 3 teaches, that you are to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all of your ways, you are to acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
Trust God because He is smarter than you.
For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
When your knowledge fails, God and His Word will never fail.
I’m being reminded of a Scripture that always baffled me while the Lord was teaching, because He said that you are to make friends with the unrighteous mammon, so that when you fail, they may receive you into eternal habitations.
Make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into eternal dwellings. (Luke 16:9)
And the understanding here is that at times, when you’re doing the right thing in the right environments, what you’re doing can fail. What you’re doing may not go the right way.
But what the Lord is reminding me is that even in business and in life, when you do the things that God asks you to do, even if you "fail", God will cause the situations, the people around you, and the circumstances to work together for your good.
He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up kings. (Daniel 2:21)
And so it is not for you to try to figure out everything on this journey of faith, but it is for you to walk by faith and not by sight. Walk by God’s Word and not by your intellect.
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8)
God has a way of showing up for you when your knowledge has failed you.
Just like the Apostle Peter (an experienced fisherman in that time) had to realize, you have to understand that you don’t have all of the cards, but God certainly does.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
And when He says you should do something, you are to do it because He is causing you to operate from His perspective, with His divine knowledge, and not based on your own limited knowledge.
Subordination to the directives of Almighty God will cause success and breakthrough to locate you because He knows how to unlock that which no man can unlock, how to close that which no man can open, and how to cause you to come in triumphantly when it is impossible from human standards for you to do so.
I have set before you an open door that no one can shut. (Revelation 3:8)
This is the word of the Lord to you in Jesus' Mighty Name.
