Giving is essential and so when you look at your life, as a believer, you have to undoubtedly look at your life of giving.

The KJV Bible verses about giving to others that we provided here are Bible verses that we believe will be a source of inspiration and encouragement to you on giving and being generous in your life in Christ, to the glory and honor of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And it is my hope these Scriptures on giving will help you get understanding on the true essence of giving and being generous. It is the nature of God to be generous and it's better to give than receive.

Speaking about Giving is one of the most difficult topics to talk about in church, as some people believe that preachers are just out to get their money. And in some respects, that is in fact true. There are people who are charlatans, and people who want to exploit the saints.

But there is a legitimate need and blessing that goes along with giving that has nothing to do with the prosperity gospel, or any of the false doctrines that have crept up in the church.

Is Giving is essential to the Christian life?

The Bible says that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life(John 3:16). So yes, it is!

Enjoy our Scriptures about Giving below.

Giving Bible Verses

Bible Passages About Giving:

2 Corinthians 9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

1 John 3:16-18

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Leviticus 25:35-37

And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with thee. Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee. Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.

Giving Bible Verses and Eventual Blessing

Deuteronomy 15:10

Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.

2 Corinthians 8:12

For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

Giving Verses Cont'd

Psalm 119:36

Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.

Matthew 6:4

That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Deuteronomy 16:17

The grace of God is His generosity.

Grace is not something that you earn, it's something that He has given.

To be saved is to receive a gift.

And so giving is a way that we imitate God.

It's also important to be led by the Holy Spirit in your giving. It's important to do good work and by generosity, extend and expand the work of the Gospel throughout the world. Lots of people like to talk about tithing, which I believe is an Old Testament doctrine and not something for the New Testament believer. About but God loves a cheerful giver, the Scripture says

The scriptures also say that He would keep imperfect peace he whose mind is stayed on Him. And so as you give, keep your mind on the Lord. What does He want? Where does he want you to give? What does He want you to do? You see you're giving allows for good deeds to be done. Every good deed that a minister does that he's been enabled to do through an act of your giving is a deed that is also going to be attributed to your account.

By giving you show your faith.

By giving you extend the grace of God

By giving you bring about a measure of Christ's rule in the earth because what you give to will grow and expand. And so it is my prayer that these Bible verses about generosity and giving will be a touchpoint by which the Lord by the Holy Spirit will make you even more generous and share in this bountiful grace of giving.
