Today we have some very powerful Scriptures on humility because it is a topic that is central to the Christian faith because it is to the humble that the Bible says that God gives grace according to the book of James. The Lord Jesus Christ showed His humility, by humbling himself even as a servant, even though he was in the likeness of God. And we are to have this same mind that was in Christ. Jesus. The Bible also talks about us not doing things for selfish ambition, but each should esteem the other better than himself. Humility is a strong indicator of your faith because it is to the humble that God gives grace.

And so by the leading of the Holy Spirit, we are to clothe ourselves with the humility that was we see in Christ Jesus.

The Bible truth is that the grace of God comes through humility.

God looks for people who humble themselves. And so you are to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. If you want God to move greatly in your life, you must look at the areas that you are prideful and eliminate them because the areas that you sin in habitually are areas where you are habitually prideful. Pride goes before a fall.

Pride goes before you missing the mark.

And so when you humble yourself, you step into a zone where you can walk in God's truth and walk in righteousness.

A humble person is a faithful person if that person puts their faith and trust in the Lord.

How can we be so sure of that?

The Bible says that blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. The reason why Jesus says the poor of spirit, is because those are the people who are humble - the people who cower to the Word of God. The word poor there is the word that deals with cowering in the Greek.

If you're in a fight, you seek to prevail when you feel like you have the strength to prevail. But the word poor there means that you retreat because you don't have the strength in your own abilities. When you're dealing with God, you want to retreat; you want to cower, because it is in this way that God can give you revelation and strengthen you.

You see, when you are weak, He is strong.

You can purposefully put yourself in a weak position when it comes to God so that you can receive His strength. Now this is one of the secrets of the kingdom - those who understand their weakness and who consciously humble themselves under the mighty hand of God are those who receive the strength that comes from God.

The Old Testament and the New Testament are replete with scriptures that deal with humanity and waiting on God. The reason why you wait on God is that you are humbling yourself.

Because you and I very well know that you can just get up and do what you want to do (even though God gives you the breath and creature strength). But when your life is committed to Him when He is your Lord and your Savior, you wait on Him for His instructions so you can receive His Life. That's why the Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

To get faith you must humble yourself because it is to the humble that He gives His word in the heart. To humility is not an outward boast or a public show.  True humility is a humbling or a cowering of the heart. And so when you are humble, your inner state is "God, I want you to do this. God I cannot do it. I need your help."

People on the outside may see you as bold and see you as pushing forward but it's only because your inner state is one of submissiveness. That's how you receive the strength to be bold. Your inner state has to be one of meekness and humility.

So, let this lowliness of mind be your inner state, because when you do, God will strengthen you.

This is one of the reasons why Daniel says that those who know their God shall be strong and do great exploits! It's because knowing God requires you to be humble and so those who are humble are those who shall be strong.

Do you want to have the strength that comes from God? Then you are to be like a little child for such is the kingdom of heaven. By the power of the Holy Spirit, humble yourself. You are to have a humble heart because it's to the humble that he gives grace. This is biblical humility.

You are to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God because He in due season will lift you up.
